Pallares stepped forward to have his best season as a senior and has some track record with wood bats, having hit better than .300 the last two seasons in the Prospect and Coastal Plain leagues. He's a solid athlete at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds whose best tools are solid-average speed and his throwing arm (he pitched 18 innings the last two seasons in relief). He played right field for the Aztecs as a senior and made strides offensively. He earned national attention for stealing home in a regional victory against host UC Santa Barbara. controls the strike zone fairly well and hit with confidence in 2015, using a more aggressive swing and tapping into his solid gap power.
