Hillyer has been Kennesaw State's ace for the last two years and helped lead the Owls to super regionals last year in their first ever NCAA tournament appearance. He continued to pitch well last summer, earning a spot on the Cape Cod League all-star team. Hillyer throws from a three-quarters arm slot and gets heavy sink on his 88-92 mph fastball. His secondary stuff isn't as good, however. He has a few different versions of his slider and a show-me changeup, but some scouts believe he'd be better served by focusing on tightening his slider or developing a cutter. If he's able to do that, Hillyer could move quickly as a sinker-slider reliever.
