View Draft Report
Magee combines excellent speed (he's a 6.5 runner in the 60-yard dash) with a simple, short swing and an ability to stay inside the ball. The Southern Mississippi recruit is a solid average center fielder with an average arm. He also has the tools to possibly move to the infield as a speedy second baseman if a team is willing to get creative. Wherever he plays, it's his bat that makes him an intriguing prospect. Magee is a more advanced hitter than most Louisiana high school products. He has a gap-to-gap line drive approach that fits best at the top of the order. He doesn't project to hit more than 5-10 home runs a season, but he should produce plenty of doubles.
