Drafted in the 11th round (317th overall) by the Miami Marlins in 2014 (signed for $350,000).
View Draft Report
White emerged as the top prep pitcher in Oklahoma and has a present plus pitch with a 12-to-6 curveball he throws with power in the upper 70s. He also has good size and projection at a listed 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. White used the breaking ball to strike out fellow Oklahoma prep Bryce Carter, a Stanford signee, eight times over the past year. White's fastball reaches 90 mph consistently and touches higher, with modest life. On the downside, his command is erratic due to a wandering arm slot and he lacks a changeup. He has a clean arm and sturdy frame. White's fairly raw and may be a tough sign. His brother has worked on the grounds crew at Oklahoma State, where White is committed. He's a long-time fan of the program and could thrive under the tutelage of respected Cowboys pitching coach Rob Cooper.
