School: Oklahoma. Committed: Never Drafted. Age At Draft: 20.9
Witherspoon transferred to Oklahoma from Northwest Florida State JC and thrived in his first season in 2024. He pitched to a 3.71 ERA with 90 strikeouts against 40 walks in 80 innings, then pitchwell in a brief Cape Cod League stint and with USA Baseball’s college national team. The 6-foot-2 righty boasts a thunderous mid-90s fastball that reaches 99 mph at peak and has ample life through the zone. He backs the fastball with a tight, mid-to-high-80s slider that routinely flashes plus and a fast-developing changeup that generated a 47% whiff rate with Oklahoma in 2024. The changeup flashes above-average at times with late fade. Witherspoon has some natural deception in his delivery that allows his already-impressive arsenal to play up. -

Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 18.9
Witherspoon was an interesting projection righthander out of high school in the 2022 class, as was his brother Malachi—who also plays at Northwest Florida State JC and was drafted by the D-backs in the 12th round. Kyson has been the best pitcher with the program this spring and posted a 3.10 ERA over 13 starts and 69.2 innings, with 72 strikeouts and 32 walks. He throws a 92-94 mph fastball that’s been up to 96, spins a low-80s slider with good depth and will also mix in an occasional changeup around 80 mph that needs additional refinement. -
School: Fletcher HS, Neptune Beach, Fla. Committed/Drafted: Northwest Florida State JC
Age At Draft: 17.9
Witherspoon is a 6-foot-1, 174-pound righthander who is a candidate to be a strong draft-and-follow prospect under the new draft rules, given his commitment to Northwest Florida State. He’s the brother of Malachi Witherspoon—also a 2022 high school righthander—and throws a fastball in the 88-93 mph range with a slider that could get to average with more development. He could use plenty more strength and further development, but Witherspoon is also quite young for the class and won’t turn 18 until a month after the draft.
