After command issues hindered his performance in his two seasons at South Carolina, the 6-foot-3 Weins enjoyed a strong 2023 season at Western Kentucky. He had a 4.35 ERA with 42 strikeouts to just eight walks in 31 innings. Weins’s fastball has been clocked as high as 98 mph with plenty of life and a whopping 39% miss rate and he also has a firm, high-80s slider that has late horizontal break.
