Best of the lefthanded pitchers is Nevada-Las Vegas’ Osborne, who should go in the first 5-6 picks. Don’t let his 4.46 ERA fool you: It’s inflated by his heavy workload and the light air at Barnson Field. Osborne hooked up with Creighton’s Dan Smith in a memorable duel earlier this spring. With about 20 scouts in attendance, Smith struck out 12 and allowed only four hits, but lost 2-1 to Osborne, who fanned 11 and yielded only three hits. The game cemented Osborne’s standing.
