Abbott has been a known entity for some years in Georgia and worked hard in the offseason to get in good shape and had a strong spring. His defensive skills fit best in an outfield corner or at first base. He is a below-average runner at best with an average arm. Scouts differ on whether he his arm plays in right field or left field. Abbott will go as far as his bat carries him. Scouts like his lefthanded swing and believe he can develop at least average power from a strong build at 5-foot-11, 187 pounds. Abbott is old for the calss and will be 20 in the offseason, making him a draft-eligible sophomore if he reaches campus at Florida.
