Drafted in the 10th round (290th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in 2014 (signed for $90,000).

LeBlanc was a high-profile recruit but had Tommy John surgery after three college starts as a freshman. His velocity was down last year as a draft-eligible sophomore and his elbow was scoped to clean up scar tissue. LeBlanc has the body and big fastball necessary to remain in the rotation, but scouts aren't sure if his secondary stuff will allow him to fill that role. He has touched at least 95 mph nearly every time out this season, sitting 90-93. His fastball stands out not just because of its velocity but also its plus life and downhill angle. His slider is a below-average offering that can flatten out. His changeup gets limited use and is also below-average. LeBlanc is a strike-thrower but doesn't miss many bats, with 6.2 strikeouts per nine in his career. The long-limbed 22-year-old has a lanky build with projection remaining at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds.

Expectations have been high for the 6-foot-4, 195-pound LeBlanc, who is a redshirt sophomore after having Tommy John surgery in 2011. His college career got off to a fast start before the injury, but he has struggled through a pair of uneven seasons since then. At times he shows scouts he still has the old velocity, with a fastball that touched 95 mph. More consistently, though, he sits 87-92 mph and struggles to maintain his velocity deep in games. He has an over-the-top slot that helps give his slider some tilt, but it causes his fastball to straighten out. He doesn't locate the fastball well enough to get ahead of hitters and put them away, and he walked more than he struck out this year (29 BB, 28 SO in 63 IP). LeBlanc has raw ability and potentially two plus pitches, but teams may want to see him for one more season before picking him in the first 10 rounds.
