Flewelling is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound catcher and lefthanded hitter who is one of the top Canadian prospects in the 2024 class and, like most Canadian prospects are, one of the youngest players in the class. He’ll be 17 on draft day and doesn’t turn 18 until November, 2024, which makes his advanced physicality and big-time raw power even more impressive. He has a chance to get 70-grade raw power at physical maturity though he’ll need to make significant progress in his pure hitting ability to consistently tap into that power in games against higher quality pitching. Flewelling has a chance to stick behind the plate and be a fringy defender at the position with average arm strength. He’s a well below-average runner committed to Gonzaga.
