Scafariello is a sight to behold, with extreme size and fast-twitch ability. He's 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds of mostly muscle, with wide shoulders and full biceps and thighs. Scafariello's best tool is his righthanded raw power, which is at least above-average, though some scouts believe it will be plus as he learns to use the opposite field. Scafariello has a chance to develop in the outfield. Despite his size, he runs very well, with average run times in the 60-yard dash and fring-average times out of the box. His arm plays as below-average, and will have to improve for him to fit in the outfield long term. In games Scafariello is still developing at the plate. He has a tendency to collapse on his back side and lose balance. He is a selective hitter that has a plan at the plate, though there is some swing and miss to his swing. He is committed to Connecticut, where he could compete for playing time right away, and could develop into a top-flight prospect in three years.
