A quick-twitch athlete who has played a lot of basketball, Thomas has limited showcase exposure but showed his speed last fall in Jupiter with 4.1-second times to first base. He's run even better this spring, earning 80 grades with 6.2-second times over 60 yards. He's very raw defensively in center field, outrunning mistakes at this point; he'll need repetition and coaching to stay in center. He's weak physically with raw hitting skills, but he's shown some bat-to-ball ability. He's committed to Sam Houston State.
