JC in2010, Bayless threw just 13 innings over the next two seasons at San Diego,then emerged as USD's most reliable reliever as a senior, going 2-3, 2.14 with 40 strikeouts and 16 walks through 34 innings. He pitches with an average fastball at 89-91 mph, bumping 92. His second pitch is a splitter with hard downer action, and his short slider is serviceable. He's a senior sign reliever with limited upside, but he competes and could grind his way to the big leagues.
