Seberino’s development has been textbook for both a lefthander and a young player signed out of the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed a successful climb through the organization last season, making the Florida State League midseason all-star team before moving up to Double-A. After pitching well in four outings there, he got the call to Durham when the Devil Rays needed a lefthander in Triple-A. Though he struggled with his control in the International League, Seberino showed he was comfortable on the fast track. He possesses an 89-91 mph fastball with plus life. His slider has shown steady improvement over the past two years and is on the verge of becoming an above-average pitch, while his changeup is average at best. There are times when Seberino has difficulty controlling the incredible movement of all his pitches. The Devil Rays realize he needs a stronger foundation of success and will start him in Double-A this spring.
