Hill and twin brother David comprised two-thirds of OCC's starting rotation this spring, and they were named co-pitchers of the year in their conference. Their older brother Michael was Long Beach State's leading hitter this year. Some scouts like Jacob the best of the three because he is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound lefthander with good feel for pitching. He pitches at 87-89 mph and bumps 90, and he uses his fringy fastball to set up his secondary stuff. Hill has good feel for a sneaky, deceptive curveball that rates as an average pitch and flashes a tick better. He can drop it over the inside corner against righthanded hitters, or mix in a changeup that also shows average. His three-pitch mix and savvy give him a chance to stick as a starter. Both twin brothers are committed to San Diego.
