Two of the Angels' all-time best players are outfielders Tim Salmon and Mike Trout, so the organization is perhaps the perfect landing spot for a player named Fish. Few 2013 draft picks had a better pro debut than Fish, an unheralded senior sign out of Siena. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the year, he hit a home run every 18 at-bats in Rookie ball, hitting nine despite missing time with a hamstring injury. Fish looks like a grinder but has solid tools, beginning with tick-above-average speed and solid-average arm strength. He's also average defensively in left field and doesn't look completely overmatched at his college position of center field, making a few highlight plays. In fact, two such attempts set Fish back in college. He tore the labrum in his right shoulder as a sophomore and broke his left wrist as a junior, both times while trying to make circus catches. He has quick hands and does a decent job of recognizing breaking balls. Fish will have to prove that his success is more than just an experienced player taking advantage of younger pitchers, but he'll get that chance at low Class A Burlington in 2014.
