Jeffrey Hammonds

Hammonds has been slowed by a hyperextended wrist he hurt last fall diving for a ball. Unsure whether the sore wrist has slowed his bat, scouts haven’t seen the power they wanted from Hammonds, who’s the only consensus choice to be drafted in the first three or four picks. He projects more now as a leadoff hitter than a No. 3 hitter, but remains capable of stealing bases at will.
