Bunal entered the spring looking to transition from the bullpen to a starting role for the Bearcats, and he more or less succeeded in doing so. Bunal logged a career-high 50 innings, and his results were solid but unspectacular, as he posted an ERA. Bunal's raw stuff projects much better in a relief role, where he can air out his fastball-slider duo. His heater can reach as high as 94 in short bursts, and he has shown the potential for an average slider, giving him enough raw stuff to develop into a solid middle reliever. Bunal also lacks the prototypical size of a starter, at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds. Still, he is relatively raw on the mound, and could blossom with a routine and pro instruction. While his most likely destination is the bullpen, starting is not completely out of the question.
