A Pennsylvania prep product, Bogucki made six starts combined in his first two seasons at UNC while accumulating 40 total innings. He found consistent work as a junior reliever, though it made him harder to scout. Big-bodied at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Bogucki is mostly a two-pitch pitcher at this stage, working off a fastball that can reach 96 but usually sits 91-93 mph, and a hard, low-80s slider that earns some plus grades. He started in the Northwoods League during the summer of 2015, and a team that thinks he can start could take him in the eight to tenth round.

Bogucki looked like a premium prospect last summer with his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and projectable arsenal, but he hasn't lived up to expectations this spring. He worked around 87-89 mph early and got to a point where he was sitting 89-92, but his starts have been inconsistent and his secondary stuff needs work. He throws a solid slider that could be an average pitch in the future, and his curveball is a step behind. He wasn't crosschecked much this spring and likely won't be picked high enough to steer him away from North Carolina.
