Jatnk Diaz

Diaz attends the same high school as righthander Brett Antolick, who ranked as the No. 358 player in the class, but was not able to pitch for the baseball team this spring due to transfer rules. He was also not on the showcase circuit much in 2022, but he pitched in the MLB Draft League during the summer and wowed scouts, with a 1.93 ERA over 9.1 innings, with nine strikeouts and five walks. He has very little pitching experience but exciting tools to work with, starting with a great 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame and solid athleticism. He sat in around 94 mph with his fastball in brief Draft League starts and also flashed an above-average slider. His control, command and a third pitch are all necessary developments for him in the future, but he’s an intriguing upside play.
