Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.5
Peppers split time as a starter and reliever for Jacksonville State for three seasons, and in 2023 he posted a 4.81 ERA over 58 innings, with a 24% strikeout rate and 10.4% walk rate. He has plenty of room to fill out a lean, 6-foot-3, 160-pound frame, but he already throws a fastball that averaged 94 mph and has been up to 98 multiple times. He throws from a mid, three-quarter slot and has a low release height that could allow the fastball to play up despite just average movement. In addition to his fastball, Peppers will throw a low-80s slider and a mid-80s changeup. Neither are plus pitches right now, but his slider has shown promise and has flashed above-average at times and his changeup could be a reliable third offering with a bit more feel. Peppers has been a below-average strike-thrower and is probably a reliever in pro ball, though following the spring season he pitched as a starter with Orleans in the Cape Cod League.
