Barczi drew attention from scouts on the 2022 summer circuit due to his physicality, raw power and arm strength behind the plate. At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Barczi has proven to be one of the most advanced high school backstops in the country thanks to his excellent receiving that features quiet, strong hands. He primarily works out of a one-knee setup and due to his plus arm strength can register pop times under the 2.0-second mark to second base. His side-to-side movement is fair and projects to improve with development, but he has the ability to anticipate angles nicely on balls in the dirt and should be a more than competent blocker. Offensively, Barczi does not get cheated. He looks to do damage and tap into his above-average raw power. He does tend to step in the bucket or land open on his stride which can make the outside pitch tough to cover. Scouts would like to see him shorten his swing a bit, especially with two strikes, in order to eliminate some of the swing-and-miss in his game. Barczi has a power-over-hit offensive profile as a safe bet to stick at catcher and play the position nicely. He fits as a 3-5 round pick on talent, but is committed to Vanderbilt and could be a tough sign.
