Curran is a power-hitting lefthanded bat. He flashes outstanding bat speed and the ability to drive mistakes a long way, with plus raw power. Curran battled mono early last summer, and was not a part of the Northeast teams at either the East Coast Pro Showcase or the Area Code Games. He came back strong later in the summer, having added significant muscle to his 6-foot-6 frame. Curran has yet to show that he can compete against high-quality competition, though he has been a tough out everywhere that he's played. Curran has a fluid swing with the ability to use his weight to drive the ball to the gaps with authority. Curran is a first-base only prospect and a well-below-average runner, with his value lying in his offensive potential. He is committed to Rhode Island.
