Draft Prospects
LeGrant's tools are not explosive, but he has a chance to develop into a solid all-around player. Scouts are not yet sold on his ability to stick at shortstop, though he does have a quick first step and the potential to develop an above-average arm. He has excellent speed underway, and some scouts see him profiling best in center field. LeGrant also shows feel for the barrel, with a compact swing and natural bat-to-ball ability. LeGrant's swing is geared more for contact than it is for power, and he rarely drives the ball with authority. He can run the 60-yard dash with plus speed, but his stiff-legged swing doesn't allow him to use all of his speed on the base paths. LeGrant is committed to NC State, where he could immediately compete for time in the lineup, though scouts do consider him signable.
