Earman's best assets are his arm strength and projection. He can run his heater up to 93 or 94 mph on occasion, but he pitches at 87-89. Down the stretch, he did a better job holding his velocity deep into games, suggesting that he is maturing physically. He could add velocity as he grows into his 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame and cleans up his upright delivery, which features a little hitch in the back. Earman's second pitch is a slurvy breaking ball that needs work, and his changeup is not good at this stage. He is a long-term project from a small private school in the desert, but his projection and arm strength generated interest from scouts this spring. Earman remains uncommitted but has drawn interest from San Diego and Long Beach State.
