Adams is a tall and projectable lefthanded pitcher with a 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame. There’s a bit of stiffness in his arm action, but he attacks hitters from a high, three-quarter slot that borders on straight over the top at times, and has shown a swing-and-miss fastball with a bit of cutting action in the 90-94 mph range. Adams has also shown some feel for a 76-79 mph curveball with 1-to-7 shape, but he needs to improve the consistency of the pitch. At its best the pitch has impressive downer shape and good finish, and it should be a swing-and-miss offering against both lefties and righties. He has also thrown a low-80s changeup with solid movement, but his arm slows a bit and he is still developing feel for it. Adams is committed to Alabama and is old for the class. He’ll be 19 on draft day and if he makes it to campus he’ll be a draft-eligible sophomore in 2025.
