Barthol is a 5-foot-9, 187-pound infielder and lefthanded hitter who hit .308/.424/.572 as a true freshman for Coastal Carolina in 2023. Despite his size, Barthol was among the D-I leaders in homers early in the 2024 season and hit 12 through his first 20 games while slashing .378/.540/.959 with nearly as many walks (16) as strikeouts (17). Barthol has played second base and third base in his college career and is the son of Blake Barthol, who was a 21st round pick by the Rockies and played nine minor league seasons as a catcher and topped out at Triple-A.
