Drafted in the 5th round (152nd overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2013 (signed for $250,000).
View Draft Report
Uhen put himself on follow lists for 2013 by showing a 93-96 mph fastball as a redshirt freshman last year (after he had Tommy John surgery in 2011) and topping out at 98 on scout day during the fall. He hasn't been easy to see this spring, working just 19 innings amid terrible weather in the upper Midwest, and has worked just 32 innings in three years at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A 6-foot-4, 205-pounder, his limited experience has led to limited pitchability (33 walks versus 30 strikeouts in his college career) but it's easy to fall in love with his arm speed and arm strength. Uhen's slider shows flashes of becoming an average pitch, though it's still a well below-average pitch at times. He's also working on a changeup, which he hasn't needed much as a reliever. If he doesn't sign, he'll get much-needed innings with the Cape Cod League's Falmouth Commodores.
