Bristow is a 6-foot-3, 196-pound righthander with plenty of athleticism and projection to dream on, but lots of crudeness in his game currently. While he’s a solid mover on the mound, his delivery needs work and features a significant drop in his backside during his load as well as a crossfire landing that inhibits already scattered control. He sits in the 89-90 mph range and has been up to 93 with a fastball that could become an average offering, and also has a breaking ball that could get to a similar range with more refinement. He’s thrown a changeup, but that pitch is in its nascent stages. Bristow is committed to Vanderbilt and could be too much of a long-term play for MLB teams now, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make a jump in the coming years.
