Tilly is a solidly built righthander with a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame who served as an effectively wild reliever with Team USA’s gold medal-winning 18U National Team in 2022. Tilly posted a 2.10 ERA over four outings and 6.2 innings, with four strikeouts and four walks. He throws a fastball in the low 90s that has been up to 95 mph. His breaking ball is a slurve-like pitch that blends in shape between a slider and curveball at 80 mph, though with Team USA it was more consistently a slider look and that was also the case this spring. It looks like a solid-average pitch at times with occasional hard snap to the glove side. Tilly also throws a mid-80s split-change that has impressive drop and tumbling action, but it’s a distinct third pitch that needs more touch and feel to be an effective pitch at the next level. If he can develop a bit more control of the pitch, he’s got the makings of a solid three-pitch mix. Tilly has been heavily scouted this spring and could be a top-five round draft talent. He’s committed to Auburn and will be a draft-eligible sophomore in the 2025 class if he makes it to campus.
