Robinson is surely in the top tier of athleticism in the 2023 class, as the 6-foot-6, 225-pound outfielder is also one of the top football recruits in the nation. Robinson is a five-star tight end prospect and top-20 overall prospect in the country according to 247Sports and should be scoring touchdowns for Southern California next fall, with the NFL a likely possibility as well. His skills on the football field could complicate how major league teams view Robinson, but on the merits of his on-field skill and tools there’s a case for him to be a top-100 prospect in the class. Robinson showed some of the best, and easiest, raw power at the 2022 Area Code Games and also drove the ball with authority in-game against some of the top pitchers in the class. There are critiques of Robinson’s swing, which includes a significant step in the bucket, and he can get pull happy, but his combination of strength and pure bat speed gives him massive power upside. Robinson’s ball tracking, leaping ability and excellent catch radius on the gridiron could easily translate to the diamond, where he could be a good defensive outfielder. Robinson’s tools and athleticism make scouts dream about his potential, but his football skill could easily make him a non-factor for teams in the draft. He’s one of the most dynamic, high-risk, high-reward players in the class.
