Arrambide is the top prep catcher in the 2024 class and has developed a reputation as an excellent defender behind the plate with above-average raw power to all fields. He was one of the better performers in the 2023 summer showcase circuit and homered twice at the Area Code Games with six balls hit harder than 90 mph. Arrambide is listed at 6-foot-3, 209 pounds and has a power-over-hit offensive profile that includes some swings and misses, but he has quick hands and can drive the ball with authority to all fields when he connects. He has a chance to be a 20-25 home run hitter if he can keep the swing and miss in check. Defensively, Arrambide receives well and does an excellent job blocking thanks to loose athleticism and agile movements behind the dish. He can command the running game thanks to plus-plus arm strength with excellent throwing mechanics and a rapid exchange that leads to pop times regularly in the 1.9-second range and some times that have clocked in the low 1.7 seconds—an elite pop time for a catcher at any level. Arrambide is committed to LSU, but has the sort of tools that could warrant a first round selection even at a risky demographic.
