Wadas is a power-hitting lefthanded hitter with a large 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame that is well-defined currently but still has room to add more power and strength. Wadas has whippy bat speed to go along with his natural strength and hits huge home runs to the pull side—both in batting practice and in games. He starts with a slightly crouched and open stance, has a hitch in his load and fires a fast and steep barrel through the zone hunting for impact. While Wadas likely has plus raw power now and could get to even more at physical maturity, that power comes with plenty of swing and miss. Over a 348-pitch sample logged by Synergy, Wadas has a 30% miss rate and has particularly struggled with spin—though he has handled 90-plus mph velocity quite handily. Because of his below-average bat-to-ball skills and a pull-heavy approach, he doesn’t project as an average hitter, though he offers some on-base skill by not chasing out of the zone too frequently. Wadas is a below-average runner who will be limited to a corner, either in the outfield or at first base, and he’ll need plenty of refinement with his reads and route-running ability to become an average defender in the outfield. He has average arm strength. Wadas is committed to Texas Christian and could bolster his draft stock by improving his reputation as a pure hitter in college if he proves unsignable out of high school, though playing alongside shortstop Roch Cholowsky with Hamilton High should have earned him plenty of looks this spring.
