Lee is the latest top prospect to come out of Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) High, the alma mater of Jack McDowell, Giancarlo Stanton and Hunter Greene. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound righthander starred as the Knights ace this spring and went 6-0, 1.24 with 102 strikeouts and 32 walks in 67.2 innings to lead Sherman Oaks to the Boras Classic South title and the top seed in the CIF Southern Section playoffs. Lee is a projectable righthander with growing stuff and a good feel for pitching. His fastball sits 91-94 mph and touches 96 out of a clean delivery and arm action. His fastball doesn’t have exceptional life or analytical traits, but he has improved his ability to throw it for strikes and should grow into more velocity. Lee’s best secondary pitch is an above-average splitter with hard tumbling action. He plays it well off his fastball and can go to it for swings and misses at any time. Lee shows some feel to spin a breaking ball, but both his curveball and slider are below-average pitches that need work. He throws strikes with average control. Lee is committed to UCLA and will command a large bonus to sign. His arm strength and physical projection have teams interested in the fourth or fifth round on talent.
