Kodali drew attention this spring for his athleticism and ability to play a premium position. He has a lean, athletic build and is a plus runner who moves around well in center field, where he projects to be at least an average defender. The unusual lefthanded thrower who hits only righthanded, Kodali has a fairly simple, fluid swing with good hand-eye coordination to put the ball in play. There’s more physical projection remaining, but Kodali has minimal power right now, so getting stronger will be critical for him once he gets into pro ball. Scouts generally think pro ball is a few years away for Kodali given his strong commitment to Vanderbilt.
