Drafted in the 9th round (268th overall) by the Los Angeles Angels in 2022 (signed for $7,500).

Stewart is the rare player to participate in the Michigan-Michigan State rivalry for both sides. He was on Michigan State's roster for four seasons, although he redshirted in 2017, barely played in 2018, 2019 or 2020 before becoming a regular for the Spartans in 2021. After earning his degree, he transferred to Michigan in 2022 for his final season. He hit .349/.409/.572 as the Wolverines center fielder. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is extremely old for this draft class--he's 24 and will turn 25 early in the 2023 season. He will have to be moved extremely quickly, but he does have a track record of college success, a strong arm and present raw power, although his flat swing means it doesn't always show up in games.
