A 6-foot, 196-pound middle infielder, Fisher has impressed scouts with his play on both sides of the ball, where he shows strength to all fields from the right side and slick defensive work in the middle infield. Fisher’s path to the ball can get long at times, but when he gets extended, he’s shown an impressive ability to barrel up the baseball even outside of the zone, going down low and pulling balls to the deep left-center gap and driving the ball the opposite way to right-center with authority. Fisher is an aggressive hitter, which can serve as both a strength and a weakness. Regardless of whether he signs professionally or ends up on campus, some fine tuning in his approach is needed at the next level. Fisher is an average runner who shows the hands, instincts and athleticism to be a solid defender at either shortstop or second base. He has slick glove work and the ability to range to his left and his right, while making accurate throws on the run and from odd angles with a quick exchange. His pure arm strength might be better suited for second base, but his actions should allow his arm to play up enough to get a chance to stay at shortstop. Fisher doesn’t have much physical projection, but he can impact the game on both sides of the ball, particularly if he can rein in his approach. He is committed to Florida State.
