Oppor is viewed by many as one of the premier arms at the junior college level and was a draft-and-follow prospect after the A’s selected him in the 11th round in 2022. The team didn’t sign him and he became re-eligible for the 2023 class. He struggled at times this spring, but the arm talent is real. Oppor is high-waisted with a projectable frame and will sit in the mid 90s with his fastball with relative ease. His slider flashed above-average potential at times this spring and had a 45% miss rate. The key for Oppor will be both the development of a third pitch as well as continuing to refine his command.
