Braswell was a highly-touted two-way player out of high school who ranked as the No. 111 prospect in the 2021 draft class. He made it to campus at South Carolina where he pitched in a few games before settling into the team’s everyday shortstop, where he combined for a .271/.368/.367 slash line in two seasons. Braswell transferred to LSU after the 2023 season and will take over shortstop duties for the departed Jordan Thompson, and boasts a defensive-first profile. Braswell is a solid athlete and slick defender who can make all the necessary plays and has above-average arm strength, but his hitting ability remains a work in progress. His swing gets in and out of the zone too quickly and he is overly passive at times, and he has also struggled to consistently make contact against secondary offerings. Braswell also has limited raw power and is a below-average runner.
