Colleran was a high-profile pitching prospect out of high school who ranked as the No. 211 prospect in the class because of his size, strength and fastball up to 96 while still being 17. Now a college junior, Colleran is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound righthander who earns elite grades for his fastball, but struggles to harness it. It’s a sinker profile fastball but one that averages 95 and has been up to 100. He pairs that with a slider that is inconsistent but could be an above-average pitch in the upper-80s and will also mix in a well below-average changeup around 88. Colleran has real control and command questions that will need to be addressed but he’s long had big arm talent.
