View Draft Report
Morris transferred to Texas Tech from Colorado Mesa University. The 6-foot, 195-pound righthander found himself in a starting role with the Red Raiders in 2022, posting an 8-2 record with a 4.58 ERA. With a delivery that includes a deep shoulder tilt, Morris releases his 92-95 mph fastball from a high three-quarters slot producing life up in the zone. He likes to put hitters away with his 80-83 mph downward breaker, a pitch he also does a fine job landing in the middle of counts. Morris has trouble commanding his changeup, but it’s usable when located to lefthanded hitters. Morris projects to handle a multi-inning role at the next level, and evaluators were encouraged with his production in the Big 12.
