Spikerman is a 6-foot, 190-pound outfielder and switch-hitter with some of the best pure running speed in the 2024 class. Some scouts have put true top-of-the-scale grades on his speed. Regardless of the grade he has an impressive first step and covers plenty of ground in center field. He began his career as a right fielder for Oklahoma, but slid over to the everyday center field job in 2023 and hasn’t looked back since. He put together his best offensive season in 2024 when he slashed .367/.429/.542 with a career-low 13.2% strikeout rate. That strikeout rate is a notable improvement from his freshman season when he struck out about a quarter of the time and key for his profile as a speedy switch hitter with light power. Spikerman has never hit more than three home runs in a season and has well below-average power that could limit him to 5-10 homers over a full pro season. His improved contact skills, decent approach and tremendous speed give him table-setting offensive tools and he’s a threat to run whenever he gets on base. He went 50-for-64 (78.1%) in stolen base attempts in his Oklahoma career and he’s a plus defender in center with average arm strength.
