Brennan missed the summer showcase circuit after having labrum surgery in his right shoulder, but he came out hot in his return this spring to fly up draft boards. He jammed his left shoulder diving headfirst into a base late in the year and did not finish the season. Brennan is one of the most physically impressive players on the West Coast with a strong, tapered 6-foot-3 frame. He possesses plus raw power from the left side with a fast, leveraged swing. He can be too aggressive at the plate, but he has a good swing path and should be able to get to his power if he can tamp down his approach. Brennan is a plus runner who effectively uses his speed to steal bases and is an above-average defender in center field with the natural actions for the position. He has an average to above-average arm and should have no problem sticking in center. Brennan holds lots of appeal as a potential lefthanded, power-hitting center fielder, but his injuries to both shoulders cloud his outlook. He is committed to UCLA and may reach campus due to his recent health record.
