Curtis is one of the fastest players in this year’s draft. He’s a true 80 runner whose speed plays on the bases and in center field. But he’s not just a burner. Curtis has wiry strength to go with his speed, and should fill out some to become a player with at least average power to go with his top-of-the-scale speed. He’s varied between using a closed, narrow stance with a noisy setup to now using a wider base and a simplified load. He has above-average bat speed and the ability to turn on the ball. Curtis doesn’t have as long of a record of consistent success as some of the other high school bats in the class, but he does have some present feel to go with exciting athleticism. Defensively, he’s a plus center fielder who can run down balls in the gaps and he has an average arm. If it all clicks, he’s a game-changing center fielder. Curtis is a Texas Tech signee.
