Ohl is the textbook example of a pitcher thriving on pitchability to compensate for a below-average fastball. The native Californian pitched consistently well for three seasons at Grand Canyon, compiling a 2.60 ERA and 10-2 record in his junior season with the Antelopes. He thrives with plus-plus command, allowing his below-average stuff to play up. The fastball can tick into the low 90s but generally sits in the high 80s, and he complements the fastball with a curveball, slider and changeup, the latter being his best secondary, grading as above-average. Ohl shows very good mound presence and was one of the keys in securing the Western Athletic Conference championship with an outstanding start against defending champs Sacramento State.
