Colton Cowser was Sam Houston’s star in 2021, but Rogers managed to match him nearly hit for hit. Rogers hit .367/.474/.696 this year, with 16 home runs. Rogers pitched on-and-off until this year, but in 2021 he focused solely on hitting. Rogers has a very simple swing that begins with an extremely modest timing step and a simple load. There weren’t many weaknesses to Rogers’ excellent 2021 season. He hit lefties and righties, velocity and spin. Being a first baseman is a tough demographic for college draftees, but Rogers has feel for hitting.
