Creighton’s ace for the past three seasons, Tebrake has now gone 21-5, 2.80 in 222 innings with the Blue Jays. His velocity steadily improved in 2022, as he went from sitting 88-90 mph in the cold of the early going to 91-92 and touching 95 by the end of the year. His performance picked up with his stuff. Tebrake has an average fastball with some life at the top of the zone, an average 82-84 mph slider, a slower mid-70s below-average curve he can surprise hitters with and an 80-81 mph below-average changeup. While nothing of his varied pitch assortment is dominating, he has plus command and control and a heady approach on the mound. He’ll be 23 before he throws his first pro pitch, so he’s best viewed as a quality senior sign.
