Matt was a graduated transfer who made it to Duke by way of Penn State. He was a productive bat in the Ivy League and was expected to be a middle-of-the-lineup contributor for the Blue Devils this spring. He didn’t disappoint, as the 6-foot-2, 220-pound right fielder hit .297/.358/.566 with a career-best 15 home runs and 12 doubles. That power came with a 28% strikeout rate, which could be a concern as he advances to face better pitching in pro ball, but could be a solid money-saving senior sign type.
