West is an eligible sophomore who started the season very well, both with results and his stuff. His fastball sat in the 88-92 mph range early in the season, and his slider and changeup played up because he located the lively fastball well. As the year went on, though, the 6-foot-6, 215-pounder lost some life and velocity off his heater, which backed up to 87-89 mph. West has to add strength to his body. He's the younger brother of former Marlins lefthander Sean West.
