View Draft Report
Jordan entered this spring having hit above .300 in two of his first three seasons with Mississippi State, and in his fourth year he broke out for the best offensive campaign of his career. Jordan hit .326/.428/.572 in 61 games up until the College World Series, with 10 home runs, 20 doubles and solid strikeout (13%) and walk (10%) rates as a switch-hitter. He was one of the most productive bats in the SEC and analytical teams should take notice of that for the draft. He’s not the toolsiest player and with a 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame doesn’t have big raw power, but he worked hard over the offseason to improve his foot speed and started every game for the Bulldogs in center field, after playing left field in the past. He probably will be a tweener profile for teams at the next level. Jordan has always been an efficient baserunner and over his career has gone 25-for-29 (86%) in stolen base attempts.

BA Grade: 40/High
Track Record: The leadoff man and center fielder for Mississippi State’s 2021 national championship team, Jordan was drafted by the Mets in the 11th round that year after four college seasons. He spent a full season at Double-A Binghamton in 2023 and ranked top 10 in the Eastern League with 30 stolen bases, 65 walks and 67 runs as the club’s primary no. 2 hitter in the first half before the likes of Jett Williams, Drew Gilbert, Luisangel Acuna and Kevin Parada arrived.
Scouting Report: Jordan is a 5-foot-10 switch-hitter with an on-base-oriented game, the capability to play outfield plus second base and limited power. For Jordan, it’s all about contact, swing decisions and grinding out at-bats. His swing is more natural from the left side, but he takes competitive at-bats from the right side. Jordan is a quality defender at all three outfield positions and made a career-high 41 starts at second base in 2023. He is an average defensive outfielder and playable on the dirt with an average arm. Jordan is an above-average runner with sharp baserunning instincts.
The Future: A switch-hitter with infield-outfield flexibility, Jordan could become a utility player or up-down option for a winning club. He played in the Arizona Fall League after the 2023 season and will head to Triple-A Syracuse as a 25-year-old in 2024.

Jordan doesn’t really have much of a pro position as he’s an undersized, 5-foot-10, 180-pound switch-hitting left fielder whose a much better hitter than slugger. In a normal year, he’d be a day three type as a productive gamer who can hit for average. He’s a .304/.381/.446 career hitter for Mississippi State.
